Saint Alban Episcopal Church has functioned as a neighborhood church for its entire 114 years.  It began as a mission on the comer of Murray Hill Road and Fairview Avenue-two blocks west of Mayfield Road.
The original building was completed and dedicated in 1892. This same building was moved in 1897 by ox cart up the hill to the present location of St. Alban Church.
At this site it served the community until a disastrous fire on June 1, 1989, destroyed both the original building and the additions.
Church services were held outside on the front lawn in a large tent until the weather turned too cold when services were moved to the basement of the new wing of the old building. This became impractical when the remains of the church had to be demolished, so services moved to First English Lutheran where they remained until a new church was built

Our new building has allowed us to open a recycled clothing store and also to institute a community meal program.
